Let's be clear. You cannot lead in today's global economy if you cannot negotiate diversity deftly, Doing that is what I call "Leveraging Differ- ence." When I began working with leaders on the issue of diversity more than 20 years ago, I often spent time trying to persuade them that focusing on diversity was an important thing to do.
