INVESTING IN HUMAN DIGNITY: A GLOBAL VISION, A HEALTHY ROI, A BETTER WORLD

In recent months, the issue of wealth inequality has burst into the consciousness of leaders around the world, with bestselling books, political debate, documentaries, and business executives struggling to find tangible solutions to the intractable problems associated with poverty and income inequality. More and more, world leaders are arriving at the same conclusion: Sustained economic growth requires lifting every human being on the planet to a level of dignity, inclusion, fulfillment, engagement, and economic security and stability, and they are embracing the value of investing in human dignity as a strategy for economic, social, and personal growth. This article defines human dignity from a socioeconomic perspective and explains how leaders from all sectors of society-business, government, religious, and nonprofit-are taking action to ignite a movement for human dignity and thereby save capitalism and democracy for generations to come.
