Guatemala-based mobile operator Claro has chosen Nortel Networks for providing an all-IP network capable of supporting bandwidth-intensive cellular services. The company said that the infrastructure would allow its users to access better-quality services. Claro, which is owned by Mexico-based America Movil, would be able to optimize network resources and slash its costs. The company did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.
