Broadband demand is soaring in Chile

Chilean cable operator VTR says that high-speed Internet packages offering download speeds of 6Mbps and over currently account for around 80 percent of its sales of Internet products. Part of the international cable TV group Liberty Global Inc., VTR operates networks in Santiago, Iquique, Antofagasta, Concepcion, Vina del Mar, Valparaiso, and Rancagua, as well as a number of other smaller cities, and is the second-largest broadband Internet provider in Chile in terms of subscribers.
