Telecom Argentina has announced that it plans to invest ARS210 million (US$24.4 million) in the deployment of a new fiber-optic backbone network based on dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) technology. The first phase of the Huawei-built 100Gbps network, which links the cities of Buenos Aires, Rosario and Codoba, is already said to be live. Going forward, the second phase of the rollout will take place next month, covering regions such as Littoral (Mesopotamia) and Cuyo, alongside coastal areas.
