Telecom Personal of Argentina has selected Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) as the supplier for its core network transformation. HPE will provide Telecom Personal with a network architecture including open standard interfaces, which will enable it to treat subscriber data management (SDM) as a network agnostic function. This will enable out-of-the box integration with third-party network solutions, giving the cellco the flexibility to evolve with future network advancements and avoid vendor lock-in. HPE says that this is a departure from the traditional model, where network equipment providers also supply proprietary SDM and core network functions. Telecom Personal is modernizing its core network in order to meet the increasing data usage requirements of its 4G LTE customer base.
