Claro launches 4.5G network in Brasilia

Claro Brasil has announced that it has launched commercial 4.5G services in Brasilia, in partnership with Chinese vendor Huawei. The telco claims that the network - which utilizes 4x4 massive multiple-input, multiple-output (4x4 Massive MIMO) technology alongside 256QAM functionality - is the first of its kind to go live in Brazil. End-users can expect to experience download transmission speeds of up to 250Mbps via the new network, the official press release notes.
