Claro Colombia launches 'Claro Share' scheme to grant rivals network access

Claro Colombia - the country's dominant telecoms provider- has unveiled 'Claro Share', a scheme which will see it offer rival players access to its extensive fixed and mobile networks. Claro currently presides over a mobile network that comprises 8,500 cell towers and covers 1,119 municipalities across 32 departments. In addition, the telco owns a fiber-optic network spanning 438,000km. The telco notes: This will allow other companies in the telecommunications sector, integrators, government and local authorities, mining and energy companies, among others, to make use of this infrastructure for their different business objectives, to meet their coverage needs.'
