Colombian Attorney General to probe 4G spectrum tender

The Colombian Attorney General's Office has announced the launch of an investigation into the recently-held auction for LTE spectrum, above all in connection with the participation of Partners, a vehicle for UK-based investment fund Novator. Specifically, the attorney general will be probing whether an official of Colombia's Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications (Mintic) enabled Novator and other funds to take part under more flexible conditions than other bidders. The office will also be looking into whether Partners fully complied with the tender's conditions and wants to clarify the precise amount raised in the sale. It has asked Mintic to temporarily suspend the granting of licenses until it completes the investigation.
