Claro Colombia first to launch 300Mbps home broadband

Claro Colombia, a subsidiary of America Movil, has launched a 300Mbps home broadband service throughout the country, the first operator to offer such ultrabroadband speeds, reports Tu Seminario. The service is available as a standalone service or in dual and triple play packages starting at ARS 127,000 a month, according to Claro executive Javier Vazquez del Mercado. The operator recently reported a 2.9 percent year on year rise in revenues to COP 2.89 trillion in the second quarter. Fixed platform RGUs grew by 5.6 percent year on year to 6.96 million at the end of June, with fixed broadband and pay-TVs revenues climbing 8.0 percent and 9.0 percent respectively.
