When Howard Carter looked through a small hole cut into an interior wall of King Tutankhamun's tomb, he was stunned to silence by what he saw. In the 1970s, King Tut's treasures came to the US and the viewing public was as mesmerized as Carter had been 50 years before. Many treasures from Tut's tomb have returned and have been traveling the US, giving a new generation of museum goers a jaw-dropping experience. While the thoughts and practices of ancient Egyptians may puzzle many of us, we can appreciate the beauty and craft of the jewelry with no explanation at all.
