Experimental data were obtained on critical heat flux for boiling nonazeotropic binary mixtures of HCFC-22/CFC-114 and HFC-32a flowing upward in vertical tube and HFC-32/HFC134a flowing in a horizontal tube at high subcritical pressures. When vapor-liquid density ratio was constant, the critical heat flux of the mixtures changed linearly with the mole fraction of the component, and the critical boiling number remained almost constant independently of the component mole fraction. The mixtures showed no peculiar difference from pure fluids in the characteristic of the critical heat flux. The critical heat fluxes for the mixtures could be predicted from the correlation valid for pure fluids by using the properties of the mixture for both vertical and horizontal tubes.
