Organisers of the recent 'Textiles India - 2017' exhibition in Gujarat have said that in future they hope to use the event to encourage product diversification and better supply chain links within the country's growing textile sector. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's oft-quoted maxim - "from farm to fibre, fibre to fabric, fabric to fashion and fashion to foreign markets" - is the guiding principle for the event. The inaugural edition of the exhibition was held in Gujarat's capital Gandhinagar on June 30-July 2.
