CAMPARI AMERICA UNVEILS $4 MILLION WILD TURKEY VISITOR CENTER

Last month officials from Gruppo Campari joined state and local officials to break ground for a new $4 million visitor's center that will be built at the Wild Turkey Distillery in Lawrenceburg. The center is projected to bring 70,000 visitors a year to the distillery. The project is part of a capital improvement project that has been in the works since the brand was purchased by Campari America in 2009. The visitor center project follows a $44 million project that was announced earlier this year. That project included building a new 125,000-square-foot packaging facility, which is set to open in the fall of 2013 and employ up to 62 people. Those attending the ground breaking ceremony included dignitaries as Commonwealth of Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear; Lawrenceburg Mayor Edwinna Baker; Chairman and CEO of Campari America Gerry Ruvo; Kentucky Tourism Secretary Marcheta Sparrow; Eric Gregory of the Kentucky Distillers Association; and Wild Turkey's Master Distiller Jimmy Russell.
