By the light of the moon, our ancestors found a way to do what they wanted to do - make their own white whiskey - whether they were supposed to or not. And so began a tradition of creating moonshine, a homemade concoction associated with the hills of Appalachia that varied widely as to taste, quality and sometimes even safety.
