63 Ready-to-use maker projects is a new compilation from Ellyssa Kroski, and the title provides a concise summary of the book's contents. It is a reference guide containing 63 creative, hands-on projects for use in library programming. Libraries have offered programs and classes in topics such as adult literacy and basic computer skills for years, in addition to providing testing sites and spaces for club meetings. Here, Kroski focuses on projects tailored for makerspaces: informal, creative spaces outside of the traditional classroom or auditorium. Makerspaces provide a place for patrons to learn, invent, build, and create in partnership with the library and fellow "makers." With makerspaces, libraries have an excellent opportunity to highlight resources, technology, services, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) skills to their communities.
