USER EXPERIENCE (UX) DESIGN FOR LIBRARIES

User Experience (UX) Design for Libraries is the eighteenth volume in the Library and Information Technology Association's Tech Set series. The book is co-authored by Aaron Schmidt, who writes the "User Experience" column in Library Journal, and Amanda Etches, Head of Discovery and Access at the University of Guelph Library. Both authors have consulting expertise in UX for library Web sites. The book's preface clearly lays out its purpose: to advise readers on creating and maintaining a user-centered library Web site by using established UX principles and methods. In the following nine chapters, the book does just that in a concise and readable fashion. Each chapter begins with a bullet list of the points to be addressed, and the contents are divided into text and graphics that are easy to read or quickly scan.
