Sample Blanket Number 1 -Learning the structure This is the second part of a series of articles illustrating how to use the loom to obtain fabric design ideas. The first article described the basic weave structure that I am using to design with. It is a Weft Bedford Cord, which traditionally gives very bold horizontal weave stripes. The basic weave was described in the 'Introduction to Bedford Cord' article, published in The Journal 213 (March 2005). This second article describes the weaving of a multiple sectioned sample blanket with which to explore the Weft Bedford Cord structure. I hope many of you will weave this sample blanket and develop new fabric design ideas with me.
