Evolving Craft Communities - from the Stone Age to the Digital Age

This is a very brief taste of a very interesting and thought-provoking day. Guild members can see a fuller report in the Association Newsletter No. 61, May 2012. The five speakers were all very different, but definitely shared ideas and philosophies: Emma Bridgewater owns and runs a very successful pottery in Stoke-on-Trent; Lida Kindersley is a letter-cutter in stone who runs the highly successful Cardozo Kindersley Workshop in Cambridge; Stuart Mitchell is a bespoke knife maker in Sheffield; Ele Carpenter is a curator, artist and researcher working in the field of visual arts and new media culture in the public realm; and Robin Wood is a pole-lathe turner and green wood worker.
