摘要

This is a very brief taste of a very interesting and thought-provoking day. Guild members can see a fuller report in the Association Newsletter No. 61, May 2012. Please also see the websites of the speakers (listed below) for more information. The five speakers were all very different, but definitely shared ideas and philosophies: Emma Bridgewater owns and runs a very successful pottery in Stoke-on-Trent; Lida Kindersley is a letter-cutter in stone who runs the highly successful Cardozo Kindersley Workshop in Cambridge; Stuart Mitchell is a bespoke knife maker in Sheffield; Ele Carpenter is a curator, artist and researcher working in the field of visual arts and new media culture in the public realm; and Robin Wood is a pole-lathe turner and green wood worker.
