Dr Who and the Nightmare Tweed

Be warned about casually accepting a commission...The first thing I was asked was - could I weave a check pattern similar to one seen on my website? No problem. What could be simpler than a plain weave check? After some discussion it turned out that my client, Steve Ricks, was making a replica Dr Who costume and needed fabric for the collar. From a photograph I was able to work out the colours and a sett of 28 ends per inch. Eventually I found three of the colours at the Handweavers Studio and the fourth at Texere. All went well and the 10 metres of fabric was nicely under way when the next request came in.
