Tips for Making a Good Weft-Faced Rug

There is no one more surprised than me that I have been earning my living as a rug weaver for 27 years - over half my life! Without exception, any weavers I met in the early days went on to get 'proper' jobs a long time ago. Having been a weaver for a long period of time, hopefully I've developed a deep understanding of what processes need to be followed to produce a good rug. To me, these might seem obvious and done unconsciously. But for newer weavers the following tips and hints may help progress towards weaving better weft-faced rugs.
