Ainsley Hillard's latest installation was in the picturesque setting of Aberglasney, an old house and gardens that are being renovated. Her work is site referential, weaving together images from her photographs of the house and grounds, and a variety of the sounds of Aberglasney, assisted by sound recordist and musician, Rhys James. These took her a year to gather, and together they resulted in an unforgettable experience. The first room contained three large, angled tables, displaying Jacquard woven pieces that could be touched and examined: Murmur concerned water and its reflections; Whisper was of delicate grasses and wild flowers in a meadow; and Waving Wood held images of trees, branches, twigs and delicate tracery.
