Some might wonder what is gained by Guilds being affiliated members of the AGWSD. Public liability cover at a very reasonable price is often cited as the reason. But there is far more. The AGWSD Constitution states: The objects of the Association shall be: (ⅰ) the preservation and improvement of craftsmanship in hand weaving, spinning and dyeing, for the benefit of the public; (ⅱ) the promotion of public awareness and education in such craftsmanship.'
