This beautifully illustrated book starts with a series of inspirational images of cable knits and design sources. The Swedish author, Ivar Asplund, was taught to knit as a child by his grandmother and is now a well respected knitter, tutor and designer. Before the instructions for a variety of cable knit projects there is a useful chapter with basic information and tips for knitters. This includes general advice on sizing, reading charts, tools and finishing garments. More detailed information on knitting techniques, sample patterns, materials and resources are given in later chapters.
