Los ferrocarriles espanoles (1854-1913): el gran negocio de los franceses [The Spanish Railways (1854-1913): the Big Business of French People]

This book is the first translation into Spanish of Albert Broder's study of Spanish railway business in his Ph.D. dissertation defended in 1981. His dissertation (Le role des Interets Etrangers dans la Croissance Economique de l'Espagne dans, 1767-1913), was supervised by Pierre Vilar and is still today a work of reference in the historiography on the economic history of Spain. The translation has been done by Dolores Alonso, and Domingo Cuellar is the book editor. Its novelty lies, in turn, in the Spanish translation. There is not any update of the content; the original study, valuable in itself, has been rightly respected. Thus, those who have not had access to the original microfiche in French have a substantial part of that work available in Spanish (the part in which the author addressed the railway business of French people in Spain until the First World War), thanks to the efforts of the 'Fundacion de los Ferro-carriles Espanoles'.
