The "Arbeitskreis Verkehr", the official Transport Geography Working Group within the German Society of Geographers (Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Geographie/ DGfG), did not hold an annual conference in the year 2007, due to organisational and logistical circumstances. The meeting will now take place on June, 26-27 2008 in Leipzig. The main issues to be discussed will be demographic change, urban regeneration and the role of transport and mobility in this respect. Different from previous conferences, this meeting will make particular use of the workshop format, in order to provide a more intensive debate, rather than compiling a series of consecutive paper presentations.
