摘要

Geospatial technologies are becoming an increasingly important component of transport geography and everyday mobilities research. This reflects the long-embedded role of Geographic Information Systems (CIS) in transport planning, modelling and management, where they have been used extensively for many "unglamorous" but necessary activities (Shaw, 2011). To add to this bedrock role of GIS, we now have an emerging flood of digital spatial and other georeferenced data, whether static or dynamic, generated by a wide spectrum of technologies for various spatio-temporal scales, even down to the individual level second by second. This digital cornucopia holds the promise of a new level of detail to inform insights into researching everyday mobilities.
