Optimization of Natural Convection in Open Vertical Ducts with Heated Cores

NATURAL convection in vertical ducts is important in thentransport of gasses and in the cooling of electronic components.nAnalytic solutions for the problem often exist for fully developednflow. These solutions not only serve as benchmarks for approximatenor numerical methods, but also serve as bounds for maximal flow ornheat transfer, especially in microgravity conditions.
