摘要

A boundary integral method is used to solve the problem of plane, uncoupled linear thermoelasticity with heat sources for an infinite cylinder with elliptical cross section, subjected to a uniform pressure and to a thermal radiation condition on its boundary. The complete solution of the problem is obtained. The results reduce to those for the infinite circular cylinder as the ellipse becomes a circle. A numerical example is treated in order to put in evidence the combined influence of the uniform pressure and heat exchange on the boundary and the uniformly distributed heat sources in the bulk.
