During the last century, as scientists and engineers recognized that yarns and textiles were engineering structures, many models were developed to predict performance. The relatively recent development of available computer power and easy-to-use programs has allowed this effort to be extended and expanded. Today, end-use performance for many fibrous structures can be easily predicted.
