摘要

Precise prediction of travel time on road is very important to guide traffic flow. Delay at signalized intersection is main part of travel time. Three traffic cellular automaton models have been developed according to different vehicle moving states. Computer simulations not only output a series of data about average travel time, but also the results show that different vehicle densities may have their optimal green light intervals and that traffic jam can not be alleviated under some conditions only by optimizing signal control schemes. Therefore, the other approaches must be taken, for example, to guide traffic flow.
