The Availability Analysis of a Repairable Computer System Based on Software and Hardware Features

摘要

In this paper, we established a mathematical model of a computer system by the supplementary variable method, which is composed of hardware and software in series. The hardware is repaired to be as good as new;while the software is repaired periodically with decreasing life time and after a period of time, it is repaired as a new one. Under the assumption that the life times of hardware and software both follow exponential distribution and the repair times are subject to general distribution, we take the results of numerical analysis.
