Based on the title, this book seems to be offering the reader a comprehensive volume on sex tourism in Africa with a special focus on Kenya. While the book is interesting and rich in details with an attempt to contextualise the connections between tourism and commercial sex workers (CSWs), the title itself leads in a wrong direction. In practice, the book focuses on the Kenyan coastal areas and resorts, and thus, it lacks an African perspective in the wider sense. In respect of the connections outside the Kenyan coastal areas, there are actually more international examples discussed from Asia and Europe, for example, than from the continent stated on the front cover of the book. With this limitation in mind, the book presents an extensive study on sex tourism and its societal connections in the Kenyan coastal areas by largely compiling and synthesising the author's previous empirical case studies on the topic.
