Anthony Travis' book makes an important contribution to the tourism and leisure related literature with its historical and global scale perspective. It brings together experience and knowledge accumulated in the last 40 years from research and consultancy project executed by the author and his colleagues in different countries in coastal, mountain and urban tourism projects in United Kingdom, Denmark, Croatia, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Israel, Australia, Netherlands, Algeria, The Maldives, the United States, Belgium and Norway. The book includes a large amount of primary data, accumulated through the decades, that otherwise would be unavailable for public.
