Authors and Reviewers are the most important people involved in the production of the Journal of Structural Geology. It is thanks to the effort of numerous Reviewers that the standard of papers published in our Journal remains high. Nevertheless, reviewing is usually a difficult and thankless task. A request to review a paper normally comes at a bad and busy moment; the paper to be reviewed may be written in an unusual style, contain flaws or mistakes; figures may be accidentally missing or should be missing; reference lists are incomplete or cite the wrong papers; and finally, once a report is written and dispatched, the author may not do as asked, and editors may differ in opinion with the Reviewer. All in all, we admire the stamina, dedication and thoroughness of all of you, our Reviewers, and the usually positive and supportive way in which even poorly written papers are treated, improvements suggested, and authors helped to improve the presentation of their work.
