On Relevance of Extreme Value Distribution

摘要

Many aero-space systems are designed for specified life or for specified number of operatios. Reliability of such a system depends on how well the operating loads are modelled. For achieving higher reliability, it is necessary that even the 'extreme or the rare' events are accounted properly and risk assessed appropriately. This paper deals with some of these issues.
