GSAT-11 satellite carries Multiport Amplifier (MPA) which is a technological demonstration of dynamic power sharing among multiple channel based on the link requirement. Since MPA operation is essentially a multi carrier operation with wideband channel bandwidth, Noise Power Ratio (NPR) test is proposed for the first time at the Integrated Satellite Testing (IST) level for its non-linearity measurement. NPR measurement requires a special stimulus signal to be uplinked to the transponder. This paper presents the work done towards the wideband NPR stimulus signal generation at Ka Band for the MPA NPR measurement. The simulation is done using MATLAB. For the RF signal generation, Wideband Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) and Vector Signal Generator (VSG) are used. Two methods of generation of Stimulus signal are discussed. We further present in paper two algorithms for the signal generation using programmable hardware. The NPR measurement is successfully carried out in the GSAT-11 during the IST phases.
