A UNIFIED BIDIRECTIONAL ASSOCIATIVE MEMORY MODEL

A unified bidirectional associative memory model (UBAM) is proposed. Its two special cases, UHOBAM and UEBAM, are the modifications of intraconnected BAM (IBAM) and higher-order BAM(HOBAM), exponential BAM (EBAM) and modified exponential BAM (MEBAM), respectively. UEBAM possesses the largest capacity among the existing models. By using the signal-to-noise analysis, the effect of nonlinear function in the model upon the capacity is discussed and then the condition that nonlinear function should meet for a satisfactory performance is presented. The simulations show the superiorities of UHOBAM and UEBAM.
