Records, information and data: exploring the role of record-keeping in an information culture

What is the role of record-keeping in an information culture? That is the topic that Records, Information and Data sets out to explore. The intended audience is academic scholars, students and reflective practitioners. I fall into the latter category, and write from this perspective. In my organisation we have a Chief Data Officer and a Chief Information Officer. The description in the book's introduction of the modern view of information as a commodity of central importance, whether as part of a 'fourth revolution' or a 'third wave', reflects my working reality.
