Organic geochemical investigation of crude oils. The southeastern part of the Pannonian Basin in Yugoslavia

This paper presents the results of the organic geochemical investigation of crude oils from oil and oil-gas fields of the southeastern part of the Pannonian Basin in Yugoslavia: Kikinda, Kikinda Varis Kikinda Gornje, Mokrin, Coke, Elemir, Karadordevo, Itebej, Boka, Janosik, Jermenovci, Lokve, Velika Greda-jug, Velebit, Kelebija, Palic, Subotica, Gaj, Dirakovo, Bubusinac, Bradarac and Maljurevac- Bubusinac (a total of 88 samples). The observed bulk and specific correlation Parameters are discussed. Based on the analyses of n-alkanes, the isoprenoid Aliphatic alkanes pristane and phytane, as well as the polycyclic alkanes of the Sterane and triterpane type, the investigated oils were classified according to Biodegradation and origin. On the basis of maturation parameters, an attempt was Made to locate the oil samples within the catagenetic sequence of sedimentary Organic matter transformation.
