摘要

Childhood injuries represent a substantial public health issue and rates and causes of childhood injuries vary by age group, gender, and state in the United States. The CDC report can inform the work of practitioners, policy-makers, elected officials, and researchers to better understand the problem and take the necessary steps to reduce the devastating burden childhood injuries place on this nation. In 2009, in an effort to raise parent's awareness about the leading causes of child injury in the United States and how they can be prevented, the CDC has launched the Protect the Ones You Love initiative and has developed a number of resources that can be used to help parents to keep their children injury-free, including fact sheets, podcasts, and media and event planning guides.
