Rod McDonald, 1928-2011

Roderick Peter McDonald was born on April 16th, 1928, in Sydney, Australia. He was the son of an accountant and a nurse whose grandparents had emigrated from Scotland and England in the 19th century. He graduated from the University of Sydney with first-class Honours in psychology, having also received a Master's degree in physics. He obtained a doctorate from the University of New England in 1963.
