Creating a climate for change. Communicating climate change and facilitating social change

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's most recent report asserts starkly that 'warming of the climate system' is now 'unequivocal' (IPCC 2007, 5) and reminds us that this is due in large part to human actions. The message is coming through loud and clear: climate change is real and the risks that it presents can no longer be ignored. Science continues to provide crucial evidence of environmental change. The ball now lies in our court: it is up to us as individuals and communities worldwide to translate the urgency of the scientific findings into significant and effective changes in our behaviours, to reduce our influence on the climate and the brunt of its impacts.
