This special issue of Journal of Relationship Marketing contains a selection of the best papers from the 10th International Colloquium in Relationship Marketing (ICRM), which was held in September 2002 at the University of Kaiserslautern in Germany. Given the 10th anniversary status of the ICRM and the evolving dialog among scholars from many countries over the last decade, we take this opportunity to offer some reflections; first on the evolution of relationship marketing towards disciplinary status, and second on the origins of the International Colloquia which has supported that evolution. We conclude with an overview of the five papers selected for this special issue.
