The words historic and iconic are much misused and overused and, in railway circles, seem only to be attached to locomotives. But two of the three most historically important railway vehicles were items of rolling stock. The Rocket and the Compiegne coach (if it survived) need little comment but it is arguable that South Eastern & Chatham Railway Luggage Van 132 was the most significant.
