Forward to the Future: The New Knowledge Needed to Advance NPD-Innovation Theory and Practice

Since its inception in 1984, JPIM has brought the latest and most impactful research on new product development (NPD) and innovation to the attention of scholars and practitioners worldwide. With over 1100 articles in print and growing, JPIM has become the prime journal that shapes what scholars and managers think about and do to excel in the NPD-innovation enterprise. As JPIM enters its fourth decade, now is the time to look forward into the future with this question: What new knowledge is needed to ensure the advancement of NPD-innovation theory and practice? Given its leadership role, JPIM is in a unique position to raise this question, and encourage new studies that address the field's most pressing needs.
