Implications of the Euro's crisis for international monetary reform

The year 2011 was supposed to be when policy makers fixed the fundamental flaws in the international monetary system. The French government, on assuming chairmanship of the Group of Twenty, the club of systemically significant economies, placed international monetary reform at the top of its agenda for the year. In the event, little was accomplished by the time the chair passed to Mexico at the beginning of 2012.
