1994-95 BS-Degree Graduates Earn Median Yearly Salary of $42,000

U.S. graduates with 4-year degrees in petroleum engineering showed a 2.1% increase in median salary in 1994-95 vs. the previous period. BS-degree graduates from U.S. schools respond each year to the SPE Starting Salary Survey conducted by the SPE Engineering Workforce Supply and Demand Committee. The 1993-94 graduates' salaries were up marginally from the previous period. The median starting salary for 1994-95 BS-degree graduates was $42,000, an increase from the 1993-94 salary of $41,138. Those figures translate into $3,500/month for 1994-95 graduates vs. $3,428/month for 1993-94 graduates. Fig. 1 shows median starting salaries per month since 1980.
