摘要

Several 2-arylpropanoic acids are known as important nonsteroidal pharmacuticals exhibiting antiinflamma- tory activity, and many methods of preparation of these acids have been developed. These methods lead gener- ally to racemic compounds, but it has been shown that a higher activity is associated with the S configuration at the chiral center of, for example, 2-(3-phenoxyphenyl)- propanioc acid (fenoprofen) or 2-(3-phenoxyphenyl)- propanoic acid (naproxen).
