摘要

(-)-α-Kainic Acid 1 is the prototype of a group of neuroexcitatory amino acids which activate particular subtypes of glutamic acid receptors. These amino acids are important substrates for physiological and pharma- cological studies of the central nervous system, and their synthesis continues to attract widespread interest.
